Commencement Skillset Training Project

I was tasked with designing and implementing the Commencement Skillset Training project on July 1, 2024, with a target for full delivery of all training materials by August 30, 2024. The goal of this training initiative was to equip employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to guide students through the commencement process, covering everything from ceremony types and eligibility requirements to handling regalia orders and addressing last-minute concerns.

In a short timeframe, I developed a comprehensive, two-part training series that included interactive eLearning modules and scenario-based content, ensuring Student Services team members could quickly ramp up to support students effectively. By the project’s completion, I achieved the successful implementation of a streamlined training program that contributed to a 16% reduction in case age for handling commencement-related tasks.

 

 

Commencement Part 1

This introductory course provides a comprehensive overview of the university’s commencement process, focusing on the various ceremony types, eligibility requirements, and the registration process. By equipping employees with these foundational skills, the training enables them to support students with confidence, contributing to a 20% reduction in ramp-up time for mastering commencement-related tasks.

Live Session Trainer Guide Example

An example of my work in live session training includes creating comprehensive trainer guides for a series of onboarding development workshops, which provided facilitators with clear instructions, discussion prompts, and activities to ensure consistent delivery and engage participants in meaningful, real-time learning.

Commencement Part 2

Building on the fundamentals from Part 1, this course covers advanced topics such as regalia, addressing last-minute concerns, managing cases and escalations, coordinating with photographers, and distributing diploma covers. Employees will also learn to use the commencement app effectively to provide timely updates. This advanced training ensures employees are fully prepared to handle complex scenarios, maintaining a 20% faster ramp-up rate for delivering comprehensive commencement support.
